House of Fraser explain why they selected Euraplan's OpenAIR Accounts solution.

 

Case Study 1

A large aviation company with a fund size of approximately £2bn wanted an improvement on their manual ledger and spreadsheets.  We identified that the base OpenAIR Accounts system with no additional modules would satisfy their requirements at a cost of approximately £6,500. 

The unique aspect of what was thought to be a straightforward installation was that the client encountered some difficulties with their internal IT department meaning that the project would have to be delayed.  This wasn't really an option for the client so, as a solution, we suggested that they take our Hosted Services offering.  Hosted Services allows the client to access OpenAIR Accounts through their web browser.  This dedicated hosting solution meant that we successfully managed the complete process of installation and implementation as well as the ongoing maintenance of the software instead of it being carried out on the client's site.

A review of the set-up a year on from installation identified that the IT difficulties had still not been resolved and had it not been for the ASP solution, the client would still have been unable to implement OpenAIR Accounts.
 

Case Study 2

A national public transport operator with a fund size of approximately £500m wanted to move on from their legacy software so as to obtain greater functionality.  OpenAIR Accounts with the additional cheque writing and BACS file production modules was identified as the best fit for their circumstances at a cost of approximately £11,000.

There was, however, another less routine requirement in that the client wanted us to provide them with database support. This was always going to be a logistical problem with the client based in Scotland and us in London.  The solution we came up with was full remote SQL Server support via VPN and this is working extremely well.

After having been installed and in use for over 12 months it was concluded that OpenAIR Accounts was the correct solution and that the remote SQL Server support via VPN provided significant cost savings in comparison to the alternatives.

 

Case Study 3

OpenAIR Accounts has also catered for the requirements of TPA's (Third Party Administrators).  The outsourcing arm of a multinational banking corporation had been using their own in-house bespoke accounting system for many years but had now identified that greater flexibility and functionality was required to cope with changes in the industry and their working practices. 

Their remit was to ascertain whether it would be more cost effective to make the required changes to their existing system or to create a completely bespoke version of OpenAIR Accounts tailored to their exacting requirements.  We are pleased to say they chose the latter option. 

Over a number of development phases, full project specifications were drawn up and agreed. The result is that the client is now extremely happy with their completely bespoke system and they use it to run the accounts for approximately 300 pension schemes with around 90 users accessing it in differing worldwide locations.
